Sexual Assault Support Services

We offer free and confidential sexual assault support services for victim survivors and their non-offending family members to support healing and recovery.

What is sexual assault?

Under the legislation, rape, incest (sex with a close relative), child abuse and unwanted sexual behaviour, like unwanted kissing and touching are examples of sexual assault.

Sexual assault is not limited to physical contact or touching. Forcing someone to watch explicit content like pornography or masturbation is also sexual assault.

Sexual Assault Support Services can also support adult survivors of childhood sexual assault or past sexual assault.

How we can help you

You can access confidential local counselling, advocacy and support services to help you manage and recover from trauma and other impacts of sexual assault and sexual violence.

Who is Sexual Assault Support Services for?

Our confidential therapeutic services are offered to adults, young people and children who have experienced sexual assault, regardless of their gender or identity. Support is also extended to their non-offending family members/support people.

Our focus is on meeting the needs of each individual. This means we offer individual sessions to adults, young people and children rather than family group counselling. Our aim is to provide individualised support in a local, safe and caring environment.

Our professional counsellors use a variety of therapeutic approaches and interventions which are tailored to age and individual needs.

How can sexual assault support services help me?

Feedback to Windermere

(Through Kids on Track) I learnt more about how drugs and alcohol affect our bodies. I don't want to end up the same way as Dad so I can now care for my body and make better decisions than what he did.

Learning in a step by step process that we have to follow, we can’t reach the last step without stepping the first step. If we as educators succeed in building trust and connectivity then learning is fun. “To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today”.
