COVID-19 has presented challenges for many of us this year, but for the young people we work with, the impact has been enormous. With schools operating remotely for a number of months, students who would normally take part in the Kids on Track (KoT) program haven’t had the opportunity to engage with our facilitator.
Recognising the importance of this and the increase in demand for services due to COVID, we have been working hard to adapt the program to operate through an online platform. We are pleased to announce that a pilot program is underway. Moving the program online presents an opportunity to reach more vulnerable children, empowering them to build the foundations for a safer, more stable future.
KoT is an early intervention and prevention program run in partnership with Victoria Police. It is aimed at deterring young people from engaging in anti-social activities which may lead to more serious offending in the future.
KoT is an 8 week program, aimed at 10 – 12 year olds (grade 5). It helps over 250 students per year.
Help us keep the program running. Join our Cape2Cape adventure in 2021. See here for details.
